Latest publication by recent PhD graduate Dr. Waqar Rizvi at Hunter College, is one step closer to better treatment for age-related macular degeneration, cancer, and various skin disorders using conjugates of saccharides to photosensitizers. In this study, they look into the photophysical properties, in vitro cell uptake, and photo-dynamic efficiency of the carbon-1 vs the carbon-3 conjugates.
